Parents & Citizen’s Association
Our Parents & Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents, carers and other interested people who have an interest in assisting and supporting the school for the benefit of all students.
P&C meetings are held regularly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00pm-4:00pm in the Parent Room (except during school holidays).
We are child friendly and your children are welcome!
We:
- Support our children in their educational journey within the school
- Develop positive parent relationships through parent participation and involvement in the school
- Are a forum to discuss issues pertaining to the school and its community and for gathering opinions
- Promote and support communication and cooperation within the school community
- Have representation on the School Board
How can you be involved?
There are many ways that you can contribute within the school. This can include assisting in the classroom, changing books, reading with students and many other varied activities.
If you have time available and are interested in being more involved within the school please speak with your child’s classroom teacher, staff in the office or the ladies in the canteen.
Volunteers are always welcome and your assistance in any area is always appreciated.
Fundraising
Volunteers are always required to be involved with and support P&C fundraising events for the school.
Practical help could include offering your time to assist on stalls, fold raffle tickets, unpack, sort and prepare items or even coordinate an event.
However, if you cannot offer your time you can still assist through the giving of donations and provision of prizes, offering of sponsorship, and by supporting fundraising initiatives through the purchasing of items and selling of raffle tickets etc.
Annual fundraising events our P&C currently coordinates are:
- Easter Raffle
- Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day Stalls
- Enterprise Day
- End of Year Raffle
Profit from these and other fundraising events has contributed to the purchasing of resources and equipment across the school including:
- Pads and Interactive Whiteboards
- Wireless IT networking
- Portable PA system
- End of Year Book Awards
- New bucket hats for students and staff
- Playground Equipment
Canteen
Our canteen employees work really hard to support our school, its students and staff. They value any time you may be able to offer to assist them in the canteen – from as little as half an hour to a full day.
Uniform Shop
Our Uniform Shop is run by volunteers and currently opens two mornings a week. The full range of South Kalgoorlie Primary School uniform items are in stock, and this includes the compulsory school hat.
