Art

At South Kalgoorlie Primary School Visual Arts is an effective vehicle for assimilating new knowledge in all areas of the classroom curriculum.

Students are exposed to the language of art such as: line, shape, colour, texture, pattern and form. Children learn to utilize their creativity and express it in a constructive way. Each child’s creation is unique and creating art opens a window into a child’s imagination as well as building confidence and self-esteem.

Students are introduced to famous artist as well as developing children’s appreciation of art of other cultures.

It is fascinating to see how students combine thoughts, feelings and information into visual sentences as an important communication skill. Refining these problem solving skills benefits all aspects of life.
